Lithium battery manufacturing equipment often implements multiple processes on a single machine. Some of the processes that take place in a machine are coating, lamination, cutting and stamping, assembly, charge, and discharge test of electrode materials.
During the coating process, the machine evenly coats the electrode material onto the PCB and calendar roll. To achieve a consistent coat, the machine must control the material flow, coating speed, coating thickness, and among other features.
During the lamination of the electrode material, the automation equipment must have precise position control and lamination pressure control. The lamellar process uses devices such as robotic arms and stamping mechanisms to precisely overlap multiple layers of electrode material, cut the lamellar electrode material to a specified size, and implement the cut-stamping process to adjust the shape of the electrode. By precisely cutting the position and applying a certain pressure, a uniformly shaped electrode can be obtained.
Segmentation processing is the process in which electrodes are cut to the desired quantity. Specially designed mechanisms are used to achieve fast and precise segmentation.
In electrode assembly, the separator and electrolyte are inserted between the positive and negative electrodes to construct the unit. Automation equipment enables precise material supply and position control for efficient and consistent assembly.
Lenses are used in lithium battery manufacturing equipment for visual inspection, identification of features, and process control to prevent malfunction. During the coating of electrodes, a lens is used for visual inspection of the uniformity and the quality of the coating. Vision is also used to locate and control the correct position and direction of material during the winding of the cathode film and diaphragm. Through the use of lenses, uniform and accurate winding can be obtained, thereby improving product quality.
